Field Notes Blog
News and thoughts on UI/UX, web design, and more.
I'm proud to highlight a few new projects that I've wrapped up recently: Redesign and tech upgrade for PoseidonWater.com Poseidon had a nice site but it was very hard to work with and didn't perform well on mobile. In the overhaul we kept the basic design but upgraded the technology to be much more user friendly and mobile optimized. In the process we did a site-wide content refresh to feature their newest project, the Claude "Bud" Lewis Carlsbad Desalination Plant. New website, Facebook tune up, Instagram and Kickstarter Campaign for FoundationForWomen.org I'm really proud of the recent work accomplished with FFW staff as we've overhauled their entire online presence AND planned and conducted a Kickstarter Campaign, which included a 3 minute campaign trailer, a press release, and a month of social media. We raised almost $5000 towards their goal of producing their new documentary. Website resign and tech upgrade for BodiesByBill.com Bodybuilder, tennis instructor and personal trainer Bill More is as active as ever in his mid-70's and has a new website highlighting his Saturday Morning Fit Camp group classes and 1-to-1 coaching sessions. Bill is highly experienced in working with seniors and training for rehab and recovery. He's also a great photographer! Other recent projects include a brand new Bed & Breakfast program for First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego, a first-time site for MuscleFit San Diego , a first-time site for PCM Construction Management and a private corporate video. Interspersed between those I've kept up discounted, nonprofit maintenance services for OB People's Food Coop, First UU Church and even a short stint and $500 silent auction donation to Lambda Archives, As Spring strolls into the long days of Summer I'm working on an original logo for a new business, three new business websites and a bevy of small consulting projects.
As always I'm humbled, amazed and inspired by clients who give me the gift of new ideas and unceasing optimism. Thank you for entrusting your projects to me, explaining your crazy (and usually great) ideas, and challenging me to bring them to life. As I head into my 11th year of working at Pixel Lava I'm learning and growing every day. If I can say that's there's a key to success, that's what it's been for me. Thanks for reading!
